It Took Me Years to Write, Will You Take a Look?

For the past couple of months, I've had this thought sort of drift into the foreground of my mind every week or two: I have no idea what I'm going to use as my writing sample next year. I'd really like to be thinking about it early, since the crunch last fall to get two writing samples done in a few months was punishing. Maybe I'll use them again. But maybe I won't. And if I end up going with that second choice, I want to be thinking soon about what the paper's going to be.

Right now, though, it's late, and the more pressing concerns are the scotch I'm about to drink and the bed I'm about to fall into. So I guess I'll let that thought drift into the background for another week or two.
