What perfect timing! My husband's only request of support this morning was info on how to tie a windsor. You rock. Now I can sleep in even longer. Does anyone go to panels at the Eastern??

I find those diagrams to be next to useless--I can't follow them. But there are lots of instructional videos on youtube:

Check it out.

Rock their socks off, guys. I'm going to check out the book sale.

The problem isn't knowing where my hands are supposed to go. It's getting them to do it in a way that makes the end product look remotely satisfactory. I'm still sticking with the "have someone else tie it and loosen it to take it off while maintaining the Windsor knot until I have to wear it again" method. As long as I've got a few ties in this condition, I have one or two I can wear even if one gets in bad shape (as one has in travel).

If you people don't know this by now..you should just hang it up and teach middle school english

The shelby-pratt is a much easier and much more symmetrical knot. It's banging!
